Klis municipality has achieved record tourism results this year, recording an increase of 52% over the same period last year.
“We are very satisfied that many families in our municipality generate additional income through renting holiday houses. Although we are just establishing a destination, I think we have all the prerequisites for the development of tourism and I’m sure we will be only better every next year” said mayor Jakov Vetma.
Klis is especially famous for its fortress that attracts more visitors every year. Last year was a record one for the fort according to number of those who visited, and excellent results also continued this year.
“This year, we have again increased the number of visitors over 60 percent. The good thing is that we have opened Knežev dvor for all visitors, but we will complete the whole story with the Interpretation Center, lighting of the fort and the new parking lot in 2019. Planned revenues of 3 million kuna will be accumulated from the tickets, and I want to pass on these funds to our residents and facilitate their lives in our municipality, both through the subsidies of kindergartens and through the purchase of work notebooks for all elementary school students”, Vetma concluded
